It took us almost 25 min to get to our camp site. Once we got there and started setting up the deer flies and mosquitos started to attack!! I have never seen flies that big before! They were everywhere. Once we got the fire started and it cooled off they got better but the stinking mosquitos never went away! I have bites in places I thought I would not get bites and the same for everyone else who was with us!!
Over all though our trip was fun. We got to see Stacey at the Playmill Theatre and went to two shows; Beauty and the Beast and 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. Both in my opinion were excellent! I think one of Jackilyn's favorite things was tea with Belle. The theatre does a little tea party with Belle for kids about an hour before the show. Stacey (my sister) arranged it and so be had brought one of Jackilyn's dresses and she got all dressed up for it. (Pictures to come!) It was so cute the parents are with the kids in the lobby and then a few of the girls in the play come out and welcome the girls in and then Belle comes out. They all got to stand up and say their name and what kingdom they were from. It was so cute! They then served the girls cake and juice, gave them a pin that said, " I had tea with Belle" and pinned it on them. Then they got to take their picture with Belle. She loved it. Then of course we had tickets right after to go to the show. The whole time she would motion to Jason or I to look. She had a blast!
The funny thing is the next day when we went back to see 7 Brides for 7 Brothers, the girl that played Belle was the one to take us in and seat us. It was so funny because she is also a good friend of Stacey's so she knew who we were and she knew that Jackilyn had come the day before, and when we saw her Jackilyn kept looking at her like she knew her but couldn't figure it out. It was so funny. We really did enjoy the plays and would recommend them to everyone who goes to West Yellowstone.
A trip to West Yellowstone would not be a trip either, if we did not venture into the park. We went up to see old faithful and several of the hotpot spots. Every time we came near the hotspots Jackilyn would ask us if we farted because it smelled so bad from the sulfer. We didn't see much wildlife, just a few moose and some deer. I have to admit that I thought Old faithful would be a bit bigger than it was but at the same time at least I can say that we went!
I love West Yellowstone! Did I ever tell you that I worked as a maid at a hotel there the summer after my senior year? We totally went to the playmill all the time. :) Glad you guys had a good time! I hope things are going well for you!
